Ingredients (2 servings)

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp White wheat flour, all-purpose
  • 1/3 cup Bread crumbs

Marinade

  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha hot chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (cooking oil)
  • 2 tbsp Nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika (smoked)

Nuggets

  • 1 block Tofu

To Cook

  • 10 spray Avocado oil (enough to fully coat)

Instructions

  1. Press the Tofu
    Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Marinade
    Whisk together all the marinade ingredients in a medium bowl, large enough to hold the tofu later.
  3. Break Tofu into Nuggets
    Using your hands, break the tofu into bite-sized nuggets of irregular shapes.
  4. Marinate the Nuggets
    Add the tofu to the marinade and gently toss until fully covered by the marinade without tearing it apart. Let it rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  5. Add Flour to the Marinade
    After marinating, add the flour to the tofu-marinade mixture and gently toss. This will thicken the remaining marinade, creating a buttery coating for the tofu.
  6. Preheat the Oven
    Preheat the oven to 185°C (365°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Coat Tofu in Breadcrumbs
    Place the breadcrumbs in a medium bowl. Take each tofu nugget, coat it in breadcrumbs, and then arrange it on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake the Nuggets
    Generously spray the nuggets with cooking oil until they are fully covered. Bake for 15 minutes, flip them over, and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Enjoy Fresh!
    Your crispy tofu nuggets are ready to be served and enjoyed right away!
