Chocolate Oatmeal

An oatmeal recipe for all the chocolate lovers out there!


  1. If you are gluten-free, make sure you buy certified gluten-free oats. Oats are naturally gluten-free, but many are processed in facilities that also handle wheat products.

  2. Add a dash of salt to bring out the nutty glamour of the oats.

  3. Load it up! Oatmeal is a great canvas for all sort of toppings.

Ingredients (2 servings)


  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 2 cup Soy milk
  • 1 tbsp Maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 dash Salt

To serve

  • 1 medium Banana
  • 1 tbsp Peanut butter
  • 25 g Peanuts, roasted

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all porridge ingredients: oats, soy milk, maple syrup, cocoa powder and salt. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Let the porridge simmer for 5 minutes until the oats are soft and have absorbed most of the liquid. Stir frequently.
  2. Remove from heat and let it stand for two minutes. Serve hot with desired toppings.
  3. How to store
    If you have any leftovers, you can keep them in an airtight container and reheat on the stovetop. Just be sure to drizzle it with some milk/water to help it cook faster and not stick to the pan.
